I do have some suggestions:

1. Instead of specifying the forum to Malaysia's BJD owners, why not broaden it slightly to accommodate neighbours like SG and Thailand?

2. I doubt our member will want to retype doll care info that we can find in DoA so for convenience of the new doll owners who don't have DoA access, Why not move some major doll care threads from DoA to here? Of course, we should give credits.

3. Getting help from existing members to build the forum: graphic wise, coding, mods (not for now) and etc.

I think our neighbours already have their own forum. They're a bigger community as compared to us anyway.
I'd like to keep this Malaysian based as sharing resources will be easier (eg where to buy MSC etc)

But of course, this does not mean that I am against them joining.
They're more than welcome to, in fact.

According to Silvy (unless I assumed wrongly ;_; ), while this forum is mainly intended for Malaysians, our Asian neighbours are more than welcome to join, hence the name mybjd-asia

Taking pointers from DoA threads is a good idea, considering that there's tons of things to do/not do when it comes to caring for your dolls.
However, I do feel we should add our own experiences in said threads, because we Malaysians may experience certain things that our fellow DoAers do not (for example, the insane hot weather here x_x )

And I do agree with seeking help from fellow members. Perhaps we should all speak up on what we're good at, or what we're willing to help with to Silvy.

For the first question, as aki mentioned, it's not exactly specified to Malaysians only, but for Asian countries in general. Even so, being a noob about this I'm being verrrrry cautious and would like to just reach out to Malaysians for now ^^;

Second question: We could crosspost and I'm not against the idea. That said you could crosspost and credit them in the respective threads, but I don't think I'll be getting that done anytime soon ^^;

Third question: BY ALL MEANS DO HELP ME!!! I really, truly appreciate the good help that everyone's willing to pitch in to get this up and running. Maybe not the mods part yet...until we've hit, say, 50+ members then I'd propose to hunt down new mods. Haha.

Oh and one more thing: I believe it'd be great if we can have a list of "Where to buy" supplies in relation to BJD. I'll create a thread somewhere in Doll Care and sticky it to get things started and I hope everyone can pitch in their info in there though I think we generally all shop at the same locations anyway hahaha

Silvy: Could you start a post stating which aspects of the forum you need help with? Also, +1000 to the "where to buy"!

I can't think of any right now except for that banner up there, actually. I drafted out something horribly simple cause I'm not a great one with Photoshop/similar programs.

This is a contemplation on my side, but I was wondering if we should have a monthly poll about this forum's banner. Basically people submit photos/art/etc and we'll vote for which banner to use for the month. And all past banners will be in the Gallery. No prize, but hey, you work is seen by everyone in the forum XD How about it?

Sounds alright with me (as long as people don't get butthurt about no one voting for them/ butthurt about others getting their friends to mass vote for them). Make sure to state the size though!

On the banner voting poll system thing (XDD), I think you should lay out a bunch on guidelines like, if they're using pictures, no nudity or whatsoever. XD; And no eye-blinding colours. @_@; Or something like that. ^^;

No worries, if everyone's happy with the banner suggestion then I'll work out to set some basic rules and guidelines for the contest

Monthly forum event seems too much, I think if there is a BIG event like a competition once a year should be enough^^ of course the banner polls we can make it once a month or two month-once, it sounds ok to me^^
